Where to Install a 30" FTE Resonator?

I just recieved my 30" FTE resonator/muffler...I am 88 so want it as quite as possible and am wondering where to install...do I put it where the factory resonator is and leave the stock muffler or replace the stock muffler and leave the resonator or in front of the stock resonator by downpipe and leave both the stock resonator and muffler (if there is enough room)...just wondering what position to put it to get the quietest possible... Tx.
