Hey guys,

I am in the market for a cummins and I am looking for the 1st gen stuff, so 1989-1993. I am here in ontario and wondering what is the best route to find one of these. Anything local seems to be overpriced and rotten. Although going down south seems to be a lot of time and expense. Anyone know of a good 3/4 ton 4x4 CTD? Or suggestions on where i should be looking?

Thanks :)

I hate rust... its eiher down south or out to BC. One or the other. Anythig i've seen so far in ontario is rotten. Found one for 5k but definitely needed 1k in body work just to safety it.. not worth it...

I hope your not driving that in the winter:thud:

I just bought a shiney new pontiac wave so that I could have a rust free truck, my truck saw it's first and last winter last year. Also if it gets put into the ditch it can become soup cans and I'll get another, mine like your can't be replaced.

Definitely don't want to drive it in the winter, but this winter there isn't much choice. Very little driving happens in the winter and I can pick my days. Hopefully something else can come up to drive next year.

Pullin the hard way, be glad to meet up to see the truck. Looks like you have quite a collection i'd like to see. I'll shoot you a PM

Nice truck Callan .Did you drive it back? If so, what did you do about license and insurance ?I've thought about buying in the southern States too.

Everything i have is krowned every year, i know the shop that does it and the truck drips for weeks afterwards.. lol

Yes I did drive it back, took a total of 39 hours of driving.. lol It was well worth it though believe me. I have never seen a truck so clean. The seller got me a temp permit, (awesome guy by the way!) and i got insurance from my insurance company before I left.

Just make sure if you decide to do it to fax a copy of the title to US customs at least 72 hours ahead of time. If you do the border is a breeze, I was there a total of 15 minutes. I was lucky this truck was 15 years old so no Registrar of Imported Vehicles BS.
