im only asking because i dont have a 16.5 inch wheel to mount up to see if it will clear.

WILL A 16.5" WHEEL FIT 3RD GENS?

I LOOKED AT MYY TRUCK AND LOKKS AS IF THEYD FIT IN THE REAR BUT NOT QUITE SURE ABOUT THE FRONT. WOULD NEED A WHEEL TO PUT ON JUST TO SEE..

has anyone done this or tried?

only reason i ask is because you can get the newer military steel belted mud terrains are pretty cheap. they are 37x12.5x16.5

well i looked at mine and its about 3/8" from the caliper on the front and 1/2" from the caliper on the rear. i think theyd fit the rear but not so sure about the front

If you're thinking about putting the hmmwv wheels on, I'm sure they'd fit since steel wheels are considerably thinner material than the cast aluminums. If you're putting an aftermarket one, I'd definitely reccomend measuring or fitting it prior to buying. Let us know if it works, and especially where you are getting hooked up with the tires

i have found the tires on craigslit for around 500 or so with 75%-90% tread left on them. will try and get ahold of a 16.5 and let you fellas know if it works out. and im thinking the same about steel wheels cause they would be a little thinner than alloys.... ill keep yall updated
