Hey I'm buying a 5.9 soon but it's an 04, I see there's different catagories for 03-04 and 04.5-05? I'm confused what's the difference?

How would I be able to tell if this truck I might buy is a 2004 or 2004.5?

I posted this in the 6.7 section because alot of the guys who know the 5.9 and actually answer posts are here on 6.7 all the time, and also because I'm doing this off my phone and it takes forever to change threads

on that note thanks alot for the info guys, I should be getting this truck in about two weeks just want to make sure I know what I'm getting into, but if I heard correctly it should be marked on the valve cover the HP numbers?

Hey one more question, do I need to run a tuner to put exhaust on the 5.9? I mean will it throw codes without a tuner?

What should I do first, 6" lift kit or dual stacks?
