coal train performance trannies.
i have done a little research and so far im headed towards goerend. A little pricey but nothing but good thing said about the company, sevice and of course the tranny.
Coal train, huh? Never heard of them.

I say it's the one built with the really good pieces by the guy that knows how to put them together.

That may mean Goerends or Suncoast, it may also mean the dude named Flockie who's popular at the track and has been building 727's for big blocks for the last 30 years.
ats also makes a good tranny. expensive though:$:
Careful with ats, reading the forums seems more people are having problems with them than enjoy them
i would say Goerend, i have seen how strong those trannies are. They can handle a ton of abuse.

Reading the forums it seems more people shoot their collective mouths off than actually have a problem.

im not a fan..

goerend, HTT, DTT, HTS

all good
good question, im leaning towards a coaltrain trans, they are good guys over there

Where is Coaltrain out of?
Don't forget about suncoast guys.
call Dave at Goerend!!GOEREND IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO!!
i know a guy with a 1289HP dodge and he has a GOEREND with 2 gear venders,no problems yet with his tranny...I WAS A SUNCOAST CUSTOMER WITH MY FORD 7.3 and they have the $hittest customer service and plus I WENT THREW 6 of there TRANNY's just sled pulling and driving in 2 weeks!not a big fan of them anymore!!though thats just my experience..best ford tranny done by a guy named brian in middle western states and best dodge tranny's done by GOEREND
Why not just get a Bruno or Lenco?
parts

when it comes time I will use local talent w/ quality parts (either Goerend / Suncoast)
Suncoast customer service can be a bit on the rough side. It really depends on who you talk to. John and Barry are both awesome, but Mrs Webb is anything but plesant. In fact, I had a big go around with her. She's just not in sync with the customers at all.

Dave has some of the best customer service available and darned good transmissions.

[email protected] HTS is great too. He is my primary choice for transmissions. Him and Dave.

Suncoast I normally recommend to the guys that are going to do their own transmission. They are the most expensive for a full unit aside from ATS. I too am not a fan of ATS. I as a dealer have had problems with them, and prefer just to avoid them.
I would go with the brands that are proven. DTT, HTS, Goerend, etc. Make the calls and do your homework. There is to much money spent on a good trans not to.

Goerend's customer service is second to none from my experience. I have had two problems with my trans since I got it and both times dave has taken time out after hours (at midnight the second time) to help me troubleshoot it and next day parts totally free of charge. For the price you aren't going to beat the equipment, and he has a few extra tricks up his sleeve for the tuning of the valve body that makes it that much better.
My vote goes to hts dusty is a real cool guy to deal with and his tranny's rock.
