Hey guys,

I’m fairly new to this but I want to thank everyone that contributes and ask/answer all the questions. Yall have been a big help. When I first got my 08 3500 it ran like a top! Tons of power and little to no smoke. At some point it got to smoking really bad and being new to the diesel world I ran it but a guys shop to get him to check and make sure non of the injectors had gone out and stuck open. King story short they were fine but I let him talk me into reprogram if it. Turns out the whole problem was the hose had come off the turbo almost but I couldn’t tell from looking at it from the top. I know, I knowI should have gotten my lazy ass on my creeper and checked under it too but I guess I’m just stupid. Now my truck went from getting about 22 mpg around town and 29-30 down the highway and went from 16-17 hauling depending on the load. The problem is I have no idea who programmed it the first time. The truck came out of Texarkana and I traded a truck and cash to a guy off eBay. Of course I lost his #. I want my power and mileage back! The truck has been stripped of everything the 6.7 didn’t need. I just have no idea what tune to get or who to go to get it reprogrammed. I’m in Central Alabama if anyone knows someone. My only problem with a tuner is it just seems so generic. I don’t mind getting one though if that’s what will help me get back to where I was. I really liked it being reprogrammed because I didn’t have to worry about anything and could just get in it and drive without having to select which tune I wanted at any given moment. I’m not sure if my info is still on here at the bottom or not so it’s a 08 single cab dually 4x4 sitting on 35s which when wore out I will be going down to a 33 I think with a G56 with a new dual clutch and a stripped 6.7 that has a stud job. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

I am assuming you never hand calculated your mileage on the old tune? Your numbers of 22-30 are highly unrealistic with DRW (and likely 4.10's), 16-17 is normal.

I logged mileage for 10,000+ miles on a tuned '10 with 34's and 3.73's. Avg was 15.4 with a best of 17.5.

I didn’t hand calculate it that I remember before it got reprogrammed but I have since and the mileage is pretty accurate as of now. All I know is that I lost a lot of power and fuel mileage when I let the guy reprogram it

G56. Worth mentioning that a good amount of the miles logged was running winter diesel. Bought truck in early October, sold in March.
yea fortunately it doesn’t get cold enough to run winter diesel here. I just don’t know what tune to get. I’m sure the over head was off some but it’s really easy to tell it’s lost power and mileage
