Have been getting the P2000 code a lot lately - any ideas as to what the technician needs to do to resolve this??? I would prefer going to my local garage over the dealership as I am well past warranty (108,000) and dont trust the dealers!
I get that code a lot and it's always because the O2 sensor is covered with soot. I think there are 2 sensors and I don't know if both or only one is the problem child. I've seen a TSB that talks about cleaning them with a dry rag (gently) and compressed air. The more recent flashes have helped some. The TSB also has directions to cover the exhaust pipe near the O2 sensor with a insulation wrap held in place with hose clamps. The idea is to keep the sensor hot as I understand it.
