Im looking into getting injectors for my 01 its got a airdog lift pump a Quad adr and i just ordered 5" exhaust for it

what would be a good size injector i was thinking 100hp but i cut grass for a living and pull a trailer with 2 zero turns almost all the time, i dont want my egts to sky rocket so im not sure what size to get and how hard are they to install can i do it here at my house?

First thing to address is your air intake. Auto or manual trans? Auto 01 has the tiny hy 35 turbo that is prob about maxed out with the quad turned up. What are your egt's like now?
Even if your manual trans, any bigger then then 100 injectors will be pushing it with an hx 35. You could always tweek your waste gate but that's more of a band aid to hold ya over. I'd think about a turbo up grade with 100-150 injectors. THen you can control fuel and egt's with the chip and the skinny pedal.

Take it from me bud, decide now on any future hp ambition and buy accordingly. I bought 50hp injectors about 3-4 years ago and then last year I decided I wanted more so I had to buy again so spending twice but I can only run 6 injectors so I now have a set thrown in the back of the workshop. Egt's are controllable with your right foot and even with lets say 125hp injectors (like I have) my egt's are cooler now then they were with the 50hp's because I mostly run now on pl0 when I tow and pl3 cruising around the place. Before I ran on pl2 towing and pl5 or 6 when I was driving the truck on it's own.

You can get away with 150hp sized injectors quite easily. I used to run 150's, quad tapped, hx35 for almost 2 years daily driving and sometimes a trailer, usually much heavier than just 2 zero turns. I'd only recommend 150's if you plan on upgrading your turbo in the future.

Cylinder pressures will be greatly increased when hot rodding as will boost. With this comes the risk of blowing a head gasket. I ran 45psi on my stock turbo numerous times for 2 years and I never had a problem, but it seems every truck is different. I never ran past 20psi until I was at operating temp.

Egts can also skyrocket if you're not careful. However, I could cruise at 600-650* (65mph) and got great mileage. After a hard run 0-80mph or so, I could max out my 1500* egt gauge quite easily. Don't get me wrong though, with just a little tweaking in driving habits, it is actually very easy to keep egts in check. If you can deal with not being able to floor it everywhere you go, 7x.009 size injectors will be just fine.

Now, this is only if you have an hx35. Hope this helps.

With all you have on the truck I would recommend getting whatever size injectors you think you would like to eventually run and just drive her easy until the turbo and headstuds get done. Maybe thats just me though.

You will be very happy with some 100's and the stock turbo. They are very tough if you keep it under 40psi. That will be a very quick spooling setup, good to pull your light load with. I ran 100s with a stock turbo for years towing 15k in the mountains with great results.

My Samurai, your stock turbo was a HX 35 though. His HY isnt as tough. I wouldnt dare push an HY to 40 lbs unless I was trying to blow it up.
OP You can manage 100 hp sticks on an hy, but keep your Quad turned down least till you get used to egt's and how its changed your drive/tow.

As for install, Its pretty simple. The one thing I would recommend is take the hook/loop off the back of the head (same one thats next to your alt mount up front of the block), makes it much easier to get to #6. And personally I got a 3/4" Crows foot on a 3" extension to a 3/8" drive to break #6 free. Mine was on there REEEEEAL tight.
