Have a Tradesman that didnt come with remote start but want to add. I called a local car audio guy here in town. He said that the only options besides stock were a start with separate key fob or viper using the mobile app/subscription. I was just seeing if any of you had any opinions or experience with those aforementioned. I really dont want another remote.
Thanks in advance

The factory remote starter the truck came with. Works great! I uesed to install Viper alarms among other things when I was in school. They are a real PITA to do on Dodge/Ram trucks, my advice go see how much the dealer will install the factory set up for. Bonus is you never have to carry a second remote.

Just had mine done here in CT, the system is made by "Avital" and working well so far. Cost me 300.00 out the door compared to the 550.00 the dealer wanted. Then I find out after my install was done that my private guy, a company called "Act Audio" in Vernon CT does all the work for the local Chrysler dealer!! LOL I had them program the system for 15 sec delay once the ignition comes on and it will keep running for 25 min. Several safety and anti-theft features. Happy with it so far.

I had the same problem with my tradesman. Has a key - no keyless and I hated it after 3 days.

So I bought a Viper 4105V - remote start and keyless entry. Love it cause I didn't want an alarm. The guy told me I could use my phone to start/unlock it. Thought that was a cool feature. So I assumed the 1way didn't matter since I could use my phone.

Turns out - you have to pay for that feature. Which kind of sucks cause you don't get a 'confirmation' that your truck actually started. But I can see it from my office so I just look for the lights to flash. A good 400 feet way - no problem. Says 1500 foot range.

I also do 2 of the 529T for the front windows and a rear 530T unit.. so my windows are now all one touch - go up and down with a press of the button and can crack if I need to from a distance.

I always roll with my windows down. So I like getting to the place, jumping out - pressing the lock button and my windows go up. I don't have to sit and wait :) I know lazy.. but it's somewhat cool to have.

That window feature is neat.
