going to re-use the steelies?

If so, then yea, a 285/70 (~32x11") is about as wide as you want to go on the stock rims as they are narrow pizza cutters. if you want a little more height, go for the 285/75r16s (~33x11")

With my god-awful backspaced rims, i was running 305/70r16s (33x12") back in the day, and they would rub a bit. but again that was more because of the rim than anything.

On the stock rim (or stock offset/backspace) you can get away with 33" tires no problem, some guys fit 35s without rubbing.

I was running 315/70/17 (35x12.5)on -11mm offset rims without a level kit but they would rub bad if I hit a bump while turning, but I put a level kit on and its all good. The only reson I went that size was because I paid for 305's and they gave me 315's

I had 285/75R16s with the stock rims and they were fine. When I put the Grapplers on (same size) with new rims I tried 315/75s first and they were a no go. The 285s are very very close at times, but never have rubbed.

I don't see why not, your stock rims should be the same as the ones I had.

Can you share why the bfg a/t is junk? I want to buy them for my next set of tires in load E rating

Thats what I got put on. If you get them at discount tire they have a 50,000 warrant on them. You will only get about 25 out of them. So you get the next set half off. A lot of people dont like them because they dont do good in the mud. But they are a a/t not a off road tire. I have had them on some of my street/pulling trucks and they are good tires if you do 95% of your driving on the road. I also pull a 6ton trailer and they do good for it. I run Irocks on my off road rigs.

I had no problems with the BFG A/Ts either, did good in the snow and ice for on road at least. I noticed they hated lots of gravel though. As said, if you do mostly on road driving and not overly much gravel they'll last and they are good for on road in snowy and icy conditions.
