It's just like the stock injection pump but plus 100 hp (?). I don't quite know how they go about it, but it's a bolt on hp increase. Pretty tempting if you just smoked your stocker. Probably similar performance to 100 hp injectors. (which I can say is impressive) That would be a LOT of fuel for your rig the way you have it set up. Probably need 5", definitely need a pulse manifold, Likely need a turbo. I am guessing you already souped up your trans to take what you are giving it, but your rig would be FAAAAST! (455 hp?) Probably fast enough to start getting creative at breaking things!

After 500hp the HRVP doesn't do much so i would stick with just getting an standard output pump.

they say the Hrvps have made a 100 horse power over stock that is how it is advertised!! but on my truck and about every other one i have seen they don't do anything more but hit a little lick, i have also heard they are more durable but who really knows

From what I have learned from the mechanics I have talked to, the HRVP is a way to get $1,800 for a $1,200 part. Based upon the internal design of the pump, there is very little to nothing mechanically that can be done to increase the amount of fuel it will pump.
Will others tell you differently? Absolutely. Might they know more than the mechanic I talked to? Absolutely.
The recommendation we got was to go with an SO pump and look toward the electronics, injectors and tubes to increase fueling.

HRVP will give you a little more HP on a stock truck....but you wont see much on a truck with mods....like a box, injectors and turbo

First off...
There was 2 styles of engine produced...
SO Engine (235 HP/460 TQ)
HO Engine (245 HP/505 TQ)
But the fact remains that the SO VP44 pumps more fuel than a HO VP44. So the HRVP44 used the SO Pump as a base to build from...
All I ever head about HRVP44 pumps is they don't typically last as long, they cost more, and they tend to have a loppy idle...
With today fuel prices I would be looking toward MPG's and not to much for HP/TQ numbers...:w:
