Repainted my valve cover, did it originally 5 years ago and didn't use high temp paint. I also only sanded the aluminum with 120 grit, it hasn't held up well.

I don't have a lot of experience painting, but I figured I could do better this time.

I stripped it with 80grit and a wire wheel.I sanded the aluminum with 120, 400, 600, 1000, & 2000 grit, then taped it, that and trimming the tape was extremely tedious.(Note to self: painting the whole thing and then sanding the aluminum would be much easier)

I used VHT Wrinkle paint for the main body, but the only places where it really wrinkled were where I thought it was too thick. I might strip it and redo it next year, learning a little each time I do it.

I didn't get good coverage on the side of the bare aluminum because of the tape, see my note to self.

I wanted to leave the area around the Ram head red and paint the head black, but I suck at detail work, so I gave up, re-sanded it, and painted the head red, then I I used VHT clear coat, we'll see how long it lasts.

If a shop had done this I would have been upset, but as a learning project, I'm pretty happy with it.

Replaced my rear brake rotors and pads with EBC Gen 3 parts. Replaced the differential gear oil with Royal Purple and replaced the transfer case atf. Expensive day, just for maintenance! Already did the front late last year, including backing plates.

I have to do my Bi-annual smog test! So, swapped out my modded turbo for the stock HY-35 and took out the Smarty tune for stock. Oh boy does this so suck. Gotta drive it for a week so the ecm monitors complete and pass before testing. The poor thing has a total lack of throttle response and power but I guess I can live with it for a week!
And, My camper shell had shifted towards the front. Had to loosen it up and shift it the rear and adjust the rear lift window. And, rattle in the left rear door. Took all apart and it seems to be coming from the door opener mechanism that's in the door jamb. No fix, other than spraying it with white grease, bummer!
