My 04 is a auto/4x4 with 119xxx miles. Lately I have noticed a rolling sound as i slow down kind of a thump thump thump and as i slow so does the sound. Its not really loud i can only hear it while coasting with radio off. Also there is a loud squeak that seems to be coming from the drivers side front when I turn the wheel either direction. I can hear it while coasting and while sitting still. No weird vibrations at any speed. Hopefully I can get this figured out. I also just changed the brakes and everything with that seemed fine.

The sound could be an axle u joint, look at the joints and see if they look rusty, if so they may be on the way out. You can check for play by grabbing the tire at 3 annd 9 with the truck wheel off the ground and shaking it a bit. If loose the joint is going out. 6 and 12 could be hub bearing going bad.

Joints do look a Lil rusty but not any worse than anything else on truck. I checked for play on the drivers side and did not hear or feel anything excessive, felt very firm. On the passenger side everything felt firm except for pushing in on the 3 o'clock position. Then I could see the steering assembly move slightly and I could hear the squeak coming from the drivers side. This is with only one wheel in the air. Could this be tie rod ends. By the way my steering has the damper bolting through the linkage. Any more suggestions guys. All help is appreciated.

I also noticed that it squeaks on bumps as well. It is loudest when turning right from full left lock.
