I posted before that my turbo was making a growling noise sometimes and the truck lost all power sometimes when i start it, it will chug the only way to make it stop was to shut it off and restart it. anyone have a similar problem? i took it to my local dodge dealership in carson city nv 3 times and every time they said they couldnt recreate the problem. this last time they told me that chrysler said to do no more work to it because it has an air raid intake on it and if i wanted anymore done i would have to put the stock airbox back on. so tuesday i have an appointment at reno dodge hopefully i ll get some better news there.

I had that happen a couple times about a year ago. Not sure what it was, It too always disappeared before the dealer could see it. Some thoughts were Air in the Injector lines caused by heat. I dunno.

Sounds like soot build up in the turbo.

On the truck that I lemoned. That truck did something simular. If I was at a stop sign or light. Once I started to take off the Exhaust Brake would come on and the truck had no power. It was all I could do to go. I would just put my foot in it. The EB would finally turn off. On the high way the damn thing would come on at full force while driving. Every time the EB was OFF. I did not have it turned on. But when the EB came on it made a growling noise. Most of the time I did not get a dash light. every now and then I would but It would go away.

what kinda growling?? Mine i guess sounds like a screaming pig or sorts but i think mine is a small air leak somewhere. It only happens if i dont keep boost/pressure up. Lik if i hit the hills and idle down hill for awhile then use EB i can hear the noise for a little or while taking off. Its only if i keep my foot off gass for a little. Its coming from egr/turbo area. Or when its cold outside and use EB at warm up, u can hear it when i click on the EB. Again, this also happens when taking off hard or under load too with no EB, its the darndest thing. MY EB also pulsates too sometimes. Thinking about haveing dealer check it out. Hopefully i dont get the runn around cause of mods and mileage. I dont have the time to mess around. I dont lose power though.

Took it to another dealership and all they did was say first thing they are gonna try is a new map/boost sensor because the diesel tech says they make trucks do weird things. so should be here in a few days and they can install an then ill see what happens.
