Why does dodge keep putting such POS trannies in? I never hear of ford or chevs with such problems...
i even have the MHP TCM and that 5th anf 6th is a bag of shiet! Mine does the stupid shudder and it's rediculous, the other two hold but this doesn't, next time it may have to be a chev as I never hear of weak drivetrain.
I find it rediculous that it takes 6K to have a decent tranny? :banghead:

I can't believe they aren't idiot proof, what were they thinking? What, no market analysis :confused013:
lol, all three have trans problems when you throw a tuner on them, even that awesome ford trans will unlock the converter at times

Should have gotten a manual then. New clutch and your gtg.

The MHP tune "helps" the tranny in stock form. But if you want a truly bullet proof auto, you need to do more then simply "program" the tranny.

i wouldnt...i mean the new duramax is nice and all, but the tranny dont hold up even when people are like allison this allison that.... when you put real power to the truck and change it from being a stock vehicle.... the transmission isnt anything special same with ford.... my girlfriend runs a 2008 king ranch 250 on 40s and tuned up and all and transmission doesnt hold it... and all three trucks are around equal now adays... the ford are capable of big power with them tuners and exhaust and intake; the chevy are capable of hold a lot of power too but once you get into trying to make serious power the cummins stomps the competition... plus it isnt as junked up underneath the hood
Alison is way weaker than the 68RFE. 80 HP over stock and Boom.

Get it built is all I can say.
LOL...well I guess it will be a built up one in the future:drool2: Alot of different opinions but I could imagine they ll have their problems, oh well my little whine over with!:hehe:

The Fords do have this problem. My Chevy had the Allison that was supposed to be soooo great. I had a banks six gun on there and it could not handle the torque in 4th or 5th gear....The bottom line is where can dodge save money and produce a drivable vehicle. Why do you think they use every excuse they can find to void your warranty. "Oh look you have a K&N air filter, this voids your warranty"
isnt the mega 3 rebuild kit and the 500+ tranny from suncoast basically the same as they use the same case with the same parts? Ron at suncoast says they charge $800 for the install of the fully built tranny but I got a guy out here that can do the rebuild for 1k... for me the rebuild would be waayy cheaper and have the same parts? thought maybe I could get some opinions on the two thanks.

The race and the mega are diff,I would do a little more research before you buy.
Oh yeah for sure, I don't plan on buying one really soon as I don't want to go back to eatin ramen noodles... All I plan on running though is what is in my sig and would think the mega 3 rebuild would be good for my application or at least my wallet likes the sound of it!
looking at your sig, id say the rebuild kit would handle your needs if you plan on just driving like a normal human being, and not racing or nothing to strenuous...
if you plan on being real rough, youd be better off getting the race tranny
i run the race tranny and there is no way the rebuild would have worked for me...
I dont plan on being real rough though sometimes I wouldn't mind taking a trip to the track, but I guess what I dont understand is why is there a kit that isn't cheap either that says can handle 500+ and not be able to take any abuse. Im not an rfe guy by any means as you can tell but if they are advertising a kit that will hold 500+ (plus ill be getting the tq) why couldn't it handle some abuse? I will be goin suncoast either way cause I love there products so hopefully you can see my side of things here.
im not saying the kit wont hold some abuse, but by all means it isnt made for guys that like to race all the time or race from redlight to redlight and punch it every corner...

Wow, you mean a tranny can't take an extra 200+ HP over stock while turning tires that are 6" taller and significantly heavier than stock? That's a real shock.
haha yeah I got you, and I dont do that anyways. I just want something cheaper yet very effective than a fully rebiult unless I get myself into some cash then Ill be first in line. Heck for now I would like to get a mhp tune but cant be down without the truck for a while and they stopped the core program so that kinda went out the window.
haha well in my OWN opinion i think youd be alright... i just know a few boys that are wide open every corner smoking tires and every redlight is a race to the next red light.... but hey its there truck i dont tell them what to do haha...
The reason you dont see ford or chevy having problems is because as soon as the trans senses you are putting to much power to it or are about to beat on it it throws it in to limp mode. I dont know about you but i didnt build my truck to let a computer tell me what i can and cant do to it. so ill stick to my dodge trans.

Don't Dodge trannies have some sort of torque limiting function in them?

Whaaaa? So this thing called torque management on dodge trucks is just a hoax?
