Had quite a coolant "flow" a few weeks after it was replaced. Thank goodness I saw it in the driveway! Anyway, let it cool, found that the bolt was finger loose! Tightened it, no more leak.

Question: There was no lock washer on the bolt. Should there be one? Should the installer have put locktite on the bolt?

Have an appointment to take it back. He thought that Silicone might have been called for, but will straighten things out!

thx

Ive replace alot of the water pumps and none of the bolts ever had a lock washer or sealer on the threads. Never had a bolt back out so my guess it probably just wasn't tight enough.

Perfect example why I do my own work.
