I discovered a water leak last week on the clip that holds the sun visor in place. Water was dripping onto my right leg. Since it's above my windshield I figure it's coming from one of the overhead cab lights.
Made a appointment at the dealership for 8 oclock this morning. Also needed to get the hood mat recall taken care of. I arrived at the dealership at 8 this morning and was told it would take 3 or 4 hours. I asked for a loaner of some sort so I could get back to work and they said sorry but our loaner is out.:banghead: I told the lady I didn't care if it was a 1983 Chrysler K car, that i couldn't hang out with them that long. She said sorry. So I smiled and walked out of the building that I gave $35,000 dollars to 8 months ago and I drove the 40 miles back to my business and I am now open for the day.
Now that customer service right there folks:thumbsup:
If they aren't careful people like me might stop buying their cars and trucks and then their company might have to file for bankruptcy. Opps, too late.

And after waiting for the 3-4 hours you would have been told that the parts are on order for the matt recall. They don't pre-order them. It takes 2 trips to get the job done.

If you have a sunroof there are drain holes that can get clogged and cause a leak as well, FYI.

My dealer doesn't use loaners. They set you up with an Enterprise rental. It's easy for the dealer and pretty easy for the customer because Enterprise sends somebody over with the car to pick you up.

There is an old TSB about leaks coming from the screws that hold the weatherstrip seal around the upper door frames. The fix is to take off the trim and apply sealant around the screw holes.

My truck has the cab lights too and I worry about them leaking and me not knowing. Leaks are bad stuff. Rust never sleeps as they say.

i had to do three trips to the dealer for the drag link recall with no avail. the truck was there for the full day on three different occasions. on the fourth trip they took care of it after finally getting the right parts. no loaners and no rentals due to insurance issues. after i got home i realized they had taken my spare tire and they will not replace it.

THATS CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!

On the topic of the leak. I tell you something else that will leak out right there, the third brake light in the back of the cab. I have no how the hell the water can go north, but it sure will.

Where did or does it ever state that when one gets a vechicle serviced you get a free ride? When were you charged and did you pay for that?

Ever heard of a cab?

Its probably one of your roof lights. Had the exact same leak on my 2005 5.9, and thats what it was.

Thanks man, I have never heard of a cab, googled it and looks like a good idea, that is if you didn't live in rural america.

Nobody ever promised me a free ride, I was assuming and we all know what happens when you assume.
The other dealerships I have bought from have always been more than helpful when I had a issue, but I guess those days are over.

Charlie,

I have a leak(ugggh brand new truck) coming out of my driver's side grab handle. Is that the side retainer leak you were speaking of? what is the fix. If the dealer is just going to seal the screws, I'd rather do that myself? Any info on the fix?

I thought I read in the owners manual that the dealers have to provide you with a loaner vehicle, but there are some stipulations to it though.
