While driving on a bumpy highway, I kept getting a warning chime. It would only do it on the bumpy road. brake lights worked. took it to dodge to run scanner. Nothing. However, a few days later, brake/turn signal went out.

My question is, if the brake light is on the fritz, would that still give a warning chime on a bumpy road? Or do I still need to go down the rabbit hole to find the cause? Haven't had a chance to hit a bumpy road yet.

Did you get any lights on the dash or did the dome likes go off?
Also is it possible that the brake light bulb that went out had a bad filament, but the bumps would make the filament bounce around and lose contact?

Nothing. I could duplicate the chime by the road alert warning on the side of the road. It was bad right before the bulb went on a different highway. It went off about 4x on that stretch. Not sure about the bad filament. I would assume I would need to depress the brake pedal or use turn signal to cause it. But could be wrong.

Colorad is correct, The Lamp out chime will/can sound before the bulb actually quits.
A poor connection in the wiring can also cause it.

Was finally able to test on road that caused it last week. It was the brake light on the fritz. Even though wasn't out at the time I checked.
