Your 3:07 uses the same carrier as a 3:54/4:10 axle. So its not hard to find a L/S used or new. What you need to find out is what the spline count is on your axles before you purchase a L/S.

POSI & LIMITED SLIP

Your axle is most likely is a 35 spline. But pull one axle and count the splines. I have heard of one 3:07 that was 32 spline. You don't want to buy a L/S without knowing the spline count. Remember they will hit you with a restocking fee if you get the wrong carrier.

Both of your links show the old one piece carriers. The link I posted is the newer two piece carriers. I have delt with that company many times over the decades.

You can also get a powertrax lock right that replaces the spider gears. I had one in my old Chevy front axle, I really liked it.

Both styes require the same for install. If you have to buy a new one. Buy the current design. It makes getting rebuild parts easyer later on during the life of the L/S.

If you have not done any axle rebuild work before. This usally not a job for a beginer. You miss the setup on the R&P. You will be replacing a lot of expensive parts.

The power trax is noisy you will hear a clicking noise when you turn, it replaces the spider gears.

I used to drive the old Chevy out in the woods to cut firewood, pretty tight out there sometimes.

It's made by Richmond Gear called Powertrax lockrite go to there website and check it out

After logging 100k plus in a truck with a rear Detroit I'm not inclined to use anything else. In fact I'm looking for one for my 92, but the 32 spline versions are pricey.

Downsides of a detroit:noise, especially clanks and clunks as the extra lash in the driveline takes up. Kind of sounds like sloppy u joints. Occasional pull one way or the other but this is usually caused by mismatched tires or uneven pressures.

upsides: no brainer operation, minimal maitainence (change oil once in a while) no additives needed either, will always give power to tire with best traction.

There's a reason it's been on the market forever and for just about every axle ever built.

Well I'm really not sure if you want lsd. From my experience it might be fun in the snow but all the crazy colors and uncontrollable laughter might make it a little hard to drive ;) watch out for gnomes too!!

Sorry had to!!!
