My wait to start light comes on while driving, chimes a couple times, stays on for about a minute then goes off. will do those multiple times well im driving, very annoying but doesnt effect anything on my vehicle. i havent noticed it in the city, just hwy driving. i also read an unknown error code on my edge juice that i believe is connected to it, it is P1223. this is becoming a more frequent pop up then before. any ideas? thanks.

my truck is a 2005 cummins w/ fully built tranny, bd cp3, silver 66 turbo, bd 90hp injectors, fass system, gauges, edge juice with hot unlock, all mods done with in the last 2 years.

gonna start with replacing the PRV, and FCA i think, its hard to figure out the problem when your truck isnt stock!

Any luck? Also were you injectors new or remands? If you are still having the issue I would have the return rates checked out for your injectors.

Injectors are less than a year old, brand new when I it them. Pretty positive it's the prv. I'm just gonna leave it though, no sense in replacing something I'm gona keep blowing by over fueling

Over fueling does not hurt the PRV, too much pressure is the culprit. If you are actualy hurting the PRV with pressure you are likely hurting the injectors.

The P1223 is for excessive fuel return thru the injectors. Whether or not that is the case or it is the mods causing the DTC is something you will have to decide by diagnosis.

The problem is the DTC usually puts the truck into limp mode and messes up the power curve. No real fix unless Marco has figured out how to turn it off yet. It is a Dodge installed DTC for diagnostics on the fuel system, stock fuel system that is.

Sorry that's what I meant when I was referring to moving a lot of fuel. The code doesn't effect my truck at all. Just something annoying to hear

So are you saying that fuel is going through the injectors or possibly loose connecting tubes that cause this code?:confused013:

Im chasing the same problem right now...

Ok I had the same issue with my 06' last year. I replaced injectors, fuel pump/lift pump, CP3, ECM etc. everything the dealer was saying was wrong. Well anyway nothing fixed the issue. the P1222 and P1223 codes kept coming up with the chimes and the truck would go into limp mode etc. Finally after bringing the truck around to several different diesel shops i found one performance shop that knew what they were doing. After extensive troubleshooting they determined that the new FCA that was put in was actually a defective unit. They replaced it and then re-torqued all the fuel lines while they were under there messing with stuff and the problem was solved. I haven't had the issue since and the truck has been running great. Hope this helps

Yes, or a bad FCA, or ???? The complicated calculation that attempts to detemrine if the fuel being sent to the rail is being used effectively triggers the error. However, if the FCA is not setting correctly that will also throw a monkey wrench in things.

Mines doin the same thing about. The light turned on and chimed. The. Light is still on but doesn't chime. I put a new prv in it and its the same. Mine doesnt have any dtc s though. I just got a plug that goes in place of the prv. I'm gonna take it out and see what happens

The reason I put a plug in it is cause my rail pressure will not go above 15000 since the light can on. And I was told the prv is probably bad. So my theory it if I eliminate it and drive it and pressure goes back to normal then the prv is bad and ill get a new one. But I don't want to buy a new one unless I'm sure it's bad. There bout 600 at the dealer in town and there the only place around that has one on hand. If the rail pressure doesn't read back to normal with the plug I will remove it and put the prv back in the rail

Plugging it will not diagnose the problem, just mask it. Test the PRV for being bad before doing anything else. If you don't have an accompanying code of P0148 the PRV is likely not the culprit.

Plug worked good. So I put my prv back in and I checked for dtcs again. The one that showed up is low voltage with the tc. And that's been on since outing the lock up switch in.but put prv
Back in cleared that code with the smarty and the lights been off and has stayed off so for

Im having the same problem with my truck. Wait to start light comes on and I loose a bunch of power. I have had the truck die three times too now. I have brand new injectors and i just replaced the FCA and the light still comes on and loses alot of power. Any ideas would be really helpful!! Im gonna get the injector fuel return lines checked and the injector connector tubes checked again.
