Hi all,

I just got handed an '02 automatic truck with the p0216 code. I guess that means it needs an injection pump. I've never installed one of those before. I can do a p pump, so I'd guess I could do a vp. How hard is it? Do I need any special tools to time the pump to the engine? Also, apparently some of these trucks had an in-tank lift pump, and some had one located elsewhere. Where would it be if it's not in the tank?

the lift pump would be right on the intake manifold on the drivers side toward the back.

As for the VP if you can do a P-Pump you can most definitely do a VP. You need a gear puller to pop the gear off. then all you need to do to time it is line up the Key on the pump shaft with the keyway on the pump gear and its timed.

Cool, thanks. I wonder if the gear puller in my p pump timing kit will do the gear on the vp?
