valve springs

do i need valve springs for my truck i am making about 50 psi of boos and i need to know if they are needed i am getting a different engine sound after about 2600 rpm and am i folating the valves

At 50+ PSI, and especially at any rpm above stock you should very seriously be looking into a set of 110 lb springs. There are 2 versions of Comp Bee-Hive's available. One for 4500 RPM and below, and one for 4500 RPM and above. There are descriptions of each on our site under the 03-07 5.9L Cummins.

Currently these are on backorder waiting for Comp to make the next production run, but they look to be about 2-3 weeks from our hands.

The other option is buying a complete industrial injection race head with the OEM intake, or the complete assembled Industrial Injection race head with the ZZ-Fab intake. Both of these are full on assult weapons meant for the serious performance guy wanting fire rings, valve springs, porting, multi angle valve jobs, race valves, and more un named secrets!
