Hi Guys,

I am adjusting the valves on my 99 2500 24 valve with 170,000 miles. When I took the valve cover off today, the valve cover gasket stuck to my valve cover. It doesn't appear to be damaged, but in all of the pictures I have seen the gasket is still on the block vs. the valve cover.

Can anyone provide any feedback on this? I am wondering my gasket should have stayed on the block or if it sometimes comes off with the valve cover?

Thanks in advance.

I have to finish up doing my valves tomorrow, but they didn't seem to be out of adjustment much at all. For example, on intake you use a .01 feeler gauge and I could probably fit a .011 or .012 in most of them before adjustment. Will I be able to tell much difference with them only being off that much?

Would you have even bothered doing the adjustments, or just put the valve cover back on and left it as is? I started to, but I didn't know if it may help or not to go ahead and make the adjustment. Seems like I could hear a light valve tick when letting off the accelerator sometimes, but cannot tell for sure it is so quiet.
