Hey guys, im new to the forum and have a question. Im 18 and recently got my first CTD. Its a 96 4x4 with a blown auto tranny. I found a guy on craigslist who has a 99 47re listed on craigslist from a v10. He says it will work minus the torque converter and the valve body. I have done some research but I couldn't find a definative answer. If someone could shed some light on the subject it would be appreciated. Thanks

I talked to a trans specialist (specializes in dodge transmissions) and he stated the valve body is nearly identical. The shift points are controlled by the computer and the torque converter is different. It should work fine with a new converter and I'd recommend a shift kit.

I still have yet to do my swap but I will be using a 99 V10 47RE behind a 12 Valve myself using a 98 12V PCM.

Hey thanks for the reply, I'm glad I'm not the only one trying this swap. I spoke to Allen at ATS this morning and he reconfirmed what your guy said. Good luck with your swap and thanks again.
