Hello,

Unfortunately I am inheriting a 1991 Dodge 3500, Cummins, manual tranny, dually, long bed, strip down model. A/c and power steering seem to be the only options. Never upgraded for more power. 200k on the odometer. Truck is not in good shape but cummins seems like new. But, hey its a CUMMINS, right? :woot: Dad says he had 80K on the original tires and motor never failed to start on the first turn of key for 10 years.

I can't say the same for my 2 F350 Powerjokes.

My question is :

What can I expect for fuel mileage from a dually driven carefully? Dad never checked his mileage but now I have have paid more than $5 per gallon of diesel so it's of interest.

Thx for any help :)

I don't know the gear ratio, I can get that when I see my dad. It has the 5 speed stick with O/D supposedly. The gear diagram on the stick is gone. But I can see a large nut holding shift knob on. The truck seems to be wound out in 5th gear at 70mph but that may just be all of the noise as it is the first gen and they are noisier, right?
