Hey guys,

I have a 2017 Cummins and I’d like car play and some of the features on the 5 8.4 uconnect. So I am wondering if I just take a Head unit out of a 2018 and put it in a 2017?? Has anyone done this or have tried? Does it work?

So if i just take the head unit out of 2018 or 2019 and you can put it in a a lower model to get car play? worked fine?

I took my oem little 5" head unit out and put the 8.4 with nav in and it was plug and play and still works flawless after 6 years now.
