The current situation with my radio (UConnect 5.0) is, I have it off while i'm driving. I pull into my destination, and turn the key off the radio turns back on. So if you were jamming out to a song, just pushed the power button to turn it off. You get home turn the key off and WHAMMY it starts blaring again, until you turn it off again or open the door then it shuts off.

So my question is does your radio turn back on when you turn the truck off?

The truck has been to the dealership 7 times now for this issue, 2 new radios and Techs flying in to look at it and cant figure out why it turns back on when you turn the key off.

Today they said ohh well that's normal operation. Really? You troubleshoot it for 4 months and 2 radios later then decided bc you cant fix it that its normal operation?!

That stinks! They charge an arm and a leg for these gadgets then when they aren't smart enough to figure out a software or hardware problem they just say 'oh well, you bought it'. Sorry you are dealing with this and hope it get's fixed! I have an issue with my 8.4 and already know they won't be able to find it!

Is there any preferences enabled or checked off within the sound system profiles that could be causing this??? My Tradesman has the 3.0 version.....so I'm unfamiliar with the 5.0 & up.

Well now that you say that I also have a Tradesman but I thought it was the Uconnect 5.0. All my paperwork is in the truck at the dealership right now so I cant look at the window sticker. But after googling it I dont see a Difference in the pics of a 3.0 and 5.0 but i'll get back to you when I pick the truck up tomorrow. In the meantime here is a picture of the radio. Disregard the song on the radio, it was for a Throwback Thursday thing at work lol.

The one setting that does make a difference on making the radio turn on by itself is when you turn the setting on for key off/accessory delay. When it is turned off, you turn the truck off it kills everything like it should. When you have the delay set to whatever time you pick to kill power after key off is when the problem shows up. I like the delay to be there incase you left a window down or something. But when the delay is on, radio off, and you turn the key off it does something that makes the radio turn back on.

I always have my radio on so I had to give this a try. My radio (u-connect 5.0) does the same as yours. No issue for me as I always leave it on. Is it supposed to be that way??

My guess is that because our trucks are multiplexed the power supply to the radio switches when the ignition is turned off. The power supply for the exit functions (courtesy lamps etc.) now supplies power to the radio so it comes back on powered by a timer. It is tied to the chime on the door for exiting with the lights on. I would need to study a wiring schematic to check my theory.
