Are fraternal twins not just as much twins as identical twins?


Yes you can run twin parallel turbos but since you will only have half the engine powering them you need two half size turbos. It will spool just a slow as one big single and won't be capable of anymore boost than a stock turbo. Overall there are very few benefits to a lot of drawbacks.

Not entirely true. A well setup twin setup could spool faster and make good power. It more falls upon turbo selection and the amount of room you have to work with. Spool time has more to do with the size of the exhaust housing than the inducer side.

I challenge you to make two hx35s plumbed in parallel spool faster than a properly pair set of compounds would on the same truck then. Its not going to happen.
He's not talking about using custom sized turbos hes talking about being a cheap and using two stockers. And whats going to happen when you use super small turbines and housings? I predicts lots of surging and poor peak flow without an external gate.

I never said a word about using Stock turbos. What I was responding to was a post that made it look as though a properly setup twin kit will not make good power. All I did was point out that that statement is not entirely true. Thanks


Also, how would it be "cheap" to run a compond setup?
