I've finally decided I need a new turbo to keep things cool. All I'm looking to do is run SW9 on my smarty revo and keep EGTs low. I really like the power that it gives me but I would like to be able to tow on that setting, if at all possible. I'm running stock sticks so I have a feeling everyone is going to say a 62/65 or 62/71. I didn't know if a smaller super b would get the job done because I bet that lil guy spools fast! Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!

Our minds are always on twins aren't they. I've been running my tq on 2 and rp on 2 so that helps with the smoke on bottom end and don't lay into it too much til I hit 10 psi. Is it gonna spool faster with the 65 or 71 wheel? Will a 57/65 super B not get the job done? That would be a nice top turbo for a fast spooling set of twins. Not big twins but twins none the less.

If you have an auto you will want to turn it down anyways. Pressure increases in the tranny per TPS so you want to be able to get on the skinny pedal more without actually getting all the power.

I spoke with Eric Brown today and they have some upgrades for the stock turbo. The compressor wheel has a more aggressive pitch, and the turbine wheel is bigger. He said its for guys running a smarty or similar box for fueling. I dont know if it would let you tow well on 9 but it might be worth looking into. Probably quite a bit cheaper.

65/13 will be the fastest spooling. Also i think the super b is smaller than a he351 on the compressor side, and bigger on the exhaust side. It wouldnt be much of an upgrade IMO

Erick Brown knows his sh*t,he has so much knowledge. We got one on a Mega Cab and with the Smarty on kill it stays cool towing. The owner towns a huge trailer once a week and I bet it weighs about 15k. His truck doesn't really smoke at all and looks like it is stock, yet put down 488 with that stock modded turbo and Smarty with a walbro 392 lift pump.

A 65/13 will spool faster and keep EGT's lower at cruising speed. While a 71/13 will take a little longer to spool but will keep EGT's cooler at WOT. So if you wanna haul a*s and keep EGT's lower, 71 impeller. If you want lower EGT's while normal driving 65 impeller.

Thanks for the replies guys. I currently put down 484 with my stocker now but that was too hot for me. Doesn't sound like I can go wrong with either 62 and it should carry me to around 600 hp.
