My HX-35 (I think) is wore out, The intake side of the trubo is covered in oil, and seems to not spool up as quick as it used to. The shaft has a little movement, but have not checked it to see if it is out of spec.

I am very mechanical, and not afraid to jump into the the turbo to attempt a rebuild. With the symptons listed is this something that a rebuld kit ( ....Like $90 from local fuel inj. shop), would fix? Any threads/ websites that have a good how to, or diagrams on rebuilding an hx-35?

I would love to just go out and buy a new turbo, but I can't afford it right now. I looked, but couldn find it, what is involved with making a 35/40 hybrid, and is it worth it?

Thanks ahead of time,
Dan

I personally wouldnt attempt it, IIRC these turbos spin at like 100,000rpm so they need to be perfectly balanced or you might need complete engine, instead of just the turbo.
IMO the hybrid turbo is not worth it, It will still have the weak HX35 shaft.
