Turbo question

Hey I'm planning a turbo upgrade in the future and was looking at a bd diesel killer b but my question is what turbo is that based upon. I'm a heavy duty mechanic and can rebuild a turbo any day so I'd really rather save some money and just buy a used one from an equipment or truck wrecker. Does bd do anything special to them?

So could I put a blow off valve into my intake system and just run a remained s300?

They both limit boost...

But the same result happens. Boost stops building at a preset pressure.
