I dont mind spending 600 or so. Looking to straightpipe it so I need to get rid of the dpf and egr but was told to tune it to shut off those systems? I was looking at the cts2 evolution diesel but not sure if theres a separate unlock cable or if it will support deletes?

I'll just save you the hassle down the road. Save up the coin and do it right the first time....I've been through 3 tuners before I settled with Anarchy and it would have saved me headaches if I had not tried to penny pinch initially.

None of the Edge products support deletes. You might be able to buy a used autocal and a single EFI Live tune for $600 but I doubt it.

You could find a Mini Maxx for a couple of hundred, but keep in mind that H & S is out of business and there is little to no tech support for it, plus the hardware and tuning is a generation or two behind now. Personally, id save up for an EZlynk.

Best advice so far. I bought a Smarty Jr and deleted. It works but I'm afraid to turn it up and ruin a head gasket. Wish I ponied up for custom tuning.

I went with:

EFI Live CSP4 & transmission tunes
Edge CTS2 Insight monitor
Edge expandable EGT probe
CSP5 switch
EGR valve & cooler delete
DPF/Cat delete
4 inch delete pipe

After a while with the straight pipe exhaust I added a Corsa dB series muffler.

Anarchy diesel has a sale right now on tuners. And there is a 10% promo on top of that, the code is HOLIDAY. I literally just bought mine this morning after calling them and asking them every stupid newb tuner question I had in my brain. There were super helpful and very informative.

And again on checkout, the 10% promo code is HOLIDAY ( they're advertising the code on the homepage ). So with the discount, you could get the single tuner for just over $700.00.

I’m with ORlaramie, Rollin smoke diesel has great pricing on tuners. I went cheap on my build at first. I deleted it and was running box tunes from a used cts2 evolution monitor. I made a set of resistors to plug into my connectors to “fool” the system into thinking the exhaust was running hot enough to not go into regen. It still woke my truck up but every month or so I’d have to stop and reload the tune. It would almost go into a “stock limp mode”.
It was terrible and cheap. It never got rid of the codes doing it that way either.
I ended up going with HPP tuners csp5 switch and efilive. At the time it came with free revmaxx trans tunes which saved me $300. They are also great with customer service.
I’m doing a second gen turbo swap soon and they wrote me 5 new tunes for that for free. Not sure if other brands will do that or not.

I'm a firm believer in the EFI live. Road ready performance had a great deal of used in for all my trucks. I got the EFI live csp5 switch trans tuning S&B intake and 4in turbo back exhaust for $1,200 and I own the tuner. I did not want to take it to a shop where they just installed one tune on my truck and they own the license. The tuner deletes everything it can read trouble codes you can delete trouble codes very good product
