Just as the title says, I am looking for differences between XRT/PRO vs Black MAXX vs Mini Maxx. I will eventually be getting a tuner, and right now I am leaning towards a Smarty Jr ME or Race ME, and I know that you cannot load custom tunes or transmission tunes with either of those (unless I am already mistaken).
So what are the differences between the above mentioned tuners, pros, cons etc..... From what I can tell teh Mini Maxx is the most flexible of all but are they worth the extra cost? I like making the most informed decision I can. Thanks to everyone in advance.
Black Maxx has been out of production for a couple years now. It's clunky and slower to load, but acts exactly the same as the Mini Maxx otherwise.
All three tuners have the same power levels and tuning features, but the XRT PRO requires reprogramming the truck every time you want to change power levels, whereas the Black Maxx and Mini Maxx will allow you to toggle between the power levels with the touch of a button. They also give you the benefit of a gauge monitor
XRT Pro: cheapest of the bunch. Dkesnt allow for on the fly tune changes. Have to download each time you change tunes.
The black maxx and the mini maxx allow for on the fly tuning and are great tuner. The blacl maxx has a biggef screen than the mini maxx and as far as I know the black maxx has been discontinued. I have a mini maxx in my truck and got it before the EPA cracked down on everything so I paid 8 something for it.
OK, XRT no changing tunes on the fly or extra gauges. Do you have to connect the XRT to your computer to load a new tune then upload to truck or can you store a few tunes to it?
Do any of them interfere with autostart or other functions on the truck? I know it isn't a huge issue but I love having my autostart in the winter.
