okay i bought a mvp from a member here for a 2001 truck. my truck is a 98 so i went ahead and purchased a wiring harness for a 98.5

long story short. i hooked up the ts mvp following all the directions. go to start the truck. and it has a very touchy throttle(cant even really explain it) it only revs to 1500 and wont go above that. oil pressure gauge stops working. water in fuel light comes on. and check engine light comes on.

i was wondering if anyone has had any issues like this... Ts said they will try sending me a new harness to replace the brand new one... they said ifs not the harness its the box which would be really disappointing....

I would ask for a refund from the person you bought it from if the other harness don't work. Might want to let him know either way tho.

I have a harness for a 98.5-00 that will probably work.

David it worked flawlessly on my 2002. If it won't work on yours, ill take it back from you... I can promise you its not the box unless it somehow exploded in the mail.


The issue is most likely its not made for a 98-00....did you tell TS that?

yes i asked them multiple times if that could be the issue they said the programming is the same the only thing that changes is the sensor plug ins. i talked to 2 guys there they said they think its a wiring harness issue which i dont understand considering this one is brand new

Well like I said, the box has worked great and never had any issues, right up to the Friday I pulled it and mailed it to you on Saturday.

I have the identical problem with mine. Did the harness fix it?
