I was driving and the truck suddenly died. No stutter nothing quit. I have fuel coming I put a airdog pump on it no problems. I thought it was a fss I gutted it still nothing. No fuel is coming out of the pump. I cracked a line on the back turned the truck over nothing. The injection pump has 20,000 miles on it. Could it be the injection pump?

What was your fuel pressure?

Have you checked your oil to see if it was overfilled?

Was the tip on the plunger when you gutted it?

Depending on the cam cycle inside the IP you might not get any fuel out of the line that you have cracked open. I'd crack open your fuel return line and see if you are getting excess fuel there.

Did you check the IP gear nut to see if it might have loosened and the key sheared?

The only way to know if shaft is broken is the pull the IP and turn the shaft or else pull the gear off and turn the IP's shaft.

Rough check for pump action would be to pull the nut in the head and check the plunger is moving. Either the timing dial indicator set up or a screwdrive/rod and have someone turn the engine over.

Have a trawl though the 89-93 tech articles on the main page.
This maybe of interest.
