so I was playing around and thought I would give SW6 a shot... DR14me

My truck ran like a piece of chit, little puffs of grey smoke, almost sounded like a misfire? I know there is no added timing on the even numbers but I didn't think that it would run like this.

So does that mean the even numbers are ONLY for people running another unit that adds timing? or what?

Even add more fuel without the timing to make the same hp. Yes evens are made to stack.

Just REVO the timing up to 3 and you will be good to go. I like running the evens. Im at 4 All REVO 2 except timing 3

Cool Thanks guys :) I'll give it a shot, the even numbers feel way smoother under half throttle, I was just experiencing that when I tried to go anything over half throttle

i only run evens with stock timing on long road trips, the boost fooling at hiway speeds gives great mileage

I only run the even, SW8, RP2, Torque Management 1, Timing 1. I like it.
I see you mentioned you like this tuning setup and your running the 18me, have you ever tried the same setup but run the timing on 4???

I am on 19me now but I did do this on the even number sw8 and while towing and it was really good. Its good on the 19me I am running now also. My truck like the even numbers and the timing up... I have not been so thrilled with anything less than sw6 LOL... They just didn't provide any mileage help what so ever while towing and they sure wouldn't tow like it does on sw6 or 8...

Big Rubber,

I understand why many of you guys stay with the 14me software, but I honestly think the 19me is better all the way around. I don't get into the "smoke" scene, I personally think the guys that have modded the trucks for the big smoke show is some of the very reason we have all the emission laws coming down all around us now... I work my truck 5 days a week now towing hard and heavy quite often. 400 plus miles everyday also. Mileage would be a concern of coarse, and durability... 18me and now 19me are the ticket of the future with the Smarty...

With the mods you have now I see no reason you would not be better off running the 19me software dude. My truck loves the even sw-6 and 8 on this 19me and the tq-2 timing-4 rp-1 and the VGT-4... Now you would need to play around with the VGT settings for sure as I am not running the VGT as you, but playing around with these numbers to start with will get you really close to a good start dude...

Edit: I forgot to mention the POD setting, while on sw-8 and towing I use the POD on 75... While on sw-6 I use the POD on 80 or 85 with good results... Not towing my truck likes it all on sw-8, I use the POD- at 99 and the truck runs really strong guys...

Thanks for the info, the smoke isn't the reason I stay with 14me, it was just fear that I would lose mileage, and something else would screw up since I've had such great results from 14me, just afraid to update it and have it start giving me headaches. That's all :)
