I was driving down the road about 60mph and all of a sudden my "check gauges" light come on...I look down and the temp qauge was moving up to 240

I was driving about 20 miles before this with no problems at all...I just dont understand why the temp climbed out of no where so fast

shut the truck down and coasted to the side of the road and let it sit for a min...got out checked the colant resivor, which was full. Started the truck back up and it was at normal operating temp (190) bout 2 miles down the road it started climbing again, so I let off the throttle and it hovered around 215-220 (the mark between 190 and 240) Then once I got back on it it would slowly rise to 240..The first time it happened it just shot up there

Checked for leaks around the water pump, nothing

Any Ideas?? Thanks
