Bought my 2011 Dodge 2500 Cummins brand new 10 months, deleted it after 3,000 miles, and thought I did everything right. Currently has 33,000 miles on it. Drove it this morning to work with no problem, then get into it to leave work at 5 and it sounds like a jet airplane. When I tried to drive it wouldn't go past 7mph and then check engine light turns on. Pop the smarty in to see what's going on and get 3 codes: P2262, P1507, and P2563. The first and last codes are turbo problems and after doing some research and calling my personal Cummins mechanic, looks like it needs a new turbo.

How many other people have experienced these turbo issues. Especially one's with deletes? It seems way too soon for my turbo to crap out. And I'm also looking for suggestions on some new turbos to look into?

Took it to my guy's shop and it looks like I will most definatly be needing a new turbo, and definatly not going after another stock one.

Ive got a 2012 with 25,000kms, deleted since 3,000km...Ive been getting code p2622 also lately. Already having an idea of what it was i brought it in, they cleaned it, turbo was still good. And when i picked it up i drove to work and as i was pulling up the code popped up again. Anyone know what they do to clean these turbos? I want mine to last until at least spring. Planning a 2nd gen/turbo setup but cant do it right now. Need to save up more. Late spring is my goal.

To the OP. i had the same issue last week at 32k miles. Temporarily you can unplug the exhaust brake plug going to the turbo. That will make it drivable until you either get a new one or do a swap. Mine has been unplugged for the past week and a half and it still boosts and operates normal. Ive put about 1200 miles on since unplugging the brake. Just waitin on 2nd gen parts to start arriving

I'm having my new turbo built today and should be ready by tomorrow. A little 66/74/.91 t4 waste gated. Also putting in a 2nd gen stainless exh manifold which should be in by tuesday. My stock turbo was shot.

Just order pretty much the same turbo except mines non gated. Going on a steed speed in 2nd gen location. Probably gonna throw 100 hp nozzles in with it
