Hello I need a little help finding what is wrong with my truck. First off I have an 03 Dodge Ram 2500 with 177000 miles on it. After market parts include: Bully Dog PMT, Air Dog 150, Banks High Ram, Banks Cool Air Intake, 4 inch magnaflow exhaust and 6in superlift with 37 in tires.

When I start my truck cold it has a hick up for like the first 30 sec or so. The RPM will bounce up and down like it is purging then it will level out. Sometimes it will even shut right back off. I can't seem to put my finger on what it could be. Any help would be appreciated.

a quick search would pull up a faulty FCA to try.

i would suggest also trying a new FCA from prior experience.

search fuel control actuator, sometimes called EFC electronic fuel control.

Thanks I am going to try that and see. I am not showing any codes so I guess its a guessing game. I was also thinking it was an APPS pedal position sensor or something to do with my grid heater since it only does it when its cold?

No codes and cold start loping and surging and sometimes stalling is classic fca problem. Apps would have a code if at fault.

Is that in auto high idle. If so I wouldn't worry about it. My truck idles like that in winter in high idle since day one. Half a million miles later. Still does it.
