Hi All,

Is there a way to test the cruise module to make sure its no good/good ?

I have good vacuum going to it. The cruise light comes on when you turn it on then about 5-10 seconds down the road the light will go out and you can't turn it back on. Have to turn the key off and start it again. Then it will do the same thing.

The module didnt look like it had any holes in it.

The cruise never worked on the truck, i just assumed a broken vac line like my last 97.

I have tried holding up the brake pedal with my foot and does not change anything you can't get it to engage.

Pin 3 is the hot DB/RD
Pin 4 is ground BK
Pin 2 is vent LG/RD
Pin 1 is Vacuum TN/RD

This is at the servo so if you want to check your servo put 12v at pin 3 where the DB/RD wire was. Put pin 4 to ground. Put pin 1 to ground and it should accelerate. What I did when I tested mine as to use a mighty vac for the vacuum that way I didn't have to have the truck running. Pin 2 is the vent to decelerate, you would just put it to ground.

If you have your truck running to do this when you put Pin 1 to ground just tap it and it will bump up, if you hold it to ground it will climb fast. That is why I used a might vac instead of having it running.

Thanks for the info. By the way is cruise controlled via the computer ? Or is the module independent ?

Thanks

Computer, I have a write up for running the cruise control with push buttons. My speedometer doesn't work so I have cruise control, it just doesn't speed up for the hills.
