Hey guys does anybody know a trick with using this stuff? I debadged my truck and rubbed goo gone over the left over adhesive and there's still some and the goo gone will not touch it. Plus now it looks like its scratched as hell after using it. I used it with a microfiber cloth to avoid scratching it. Any tips with fixing it or getting the rest off?

3M General Purpose Adhesive cleaner #38983 is very effective. However, Goo Gone is not as effective as the 3M product. I also recommend using a clean or several micro fiber towels, which keeps scratching of the underlying paint to a minimum.

For the stubborn areas you mention, 3M markets an eraser wheel or stripe removal wheel that chucks onto a drill. This will remove the adhesive in no time.

Goo Gone will always leave a bit of residue. Wipe it down one more time with Goo Gone to get the last of the adhesive, allow it to dry (takes a bit, especially in these temps), then hit that section with a little wax. Issue resolved.

Oh, and use a paper towel. Your micro-fiber will gum up with the adhesive and becomes ineffective. Goo Gone requires many paper towels to absorb the glue/adhesive.

Try using a heat gun to warm the area up, use the 3m or goo gone. Then use heat gun again during removal and drying.
