I have a question i got a 12 vaulve 96 auto complete stock and when it isnt warmed up i have to give it quite a bit of fuel to get it to go into reverse or drive i was wondering if the transmission was goin out
Torque converter is draining back, or it's out of fluid. Check the level by the instructions on the dipstick. If it's fine, let it idle in neutral for a few seconds and see if that helps. Then go from there.
It's kinda normal. To avoid having to give it a bunch of fuel, let it idle for 30 seconds or so in neutral. All chrysler rwd transmissions from the 48re on back are based on the old torqueflite design, which does not send fluid to the converter in park. If the converter drains overnight, this will happen.
