So I recently purchased a 2005 Dodge with the 5.9 Cummins and Auto Tranny. The truck has 26000 mi an air rade intake and a full magnaflow exhaust system. I took it to the dealer where I bought it because there was a flux in when shifting into overdrive. It was intermintent but enough to drive me nuts. Supposedly they replaced the valve body but I've still noticed the same thing ocurring. I have had the transmission tested on a computer at a friend's shop and everything reads fine. Does anyone have suggestions?

a flux meaning the tac jumped at 2000 rpm before kicking into overdrive

Did you look into the TSB for it? I had the dealer perform TSB on mine, had no luck. Then replaced VB, fixed it.

May be just the opposite for your situation..


The TSB I used was TSB 21-007-06 and my dealership had it in thier computer.

3-4 flare up

Could be a bad OD roller clutch. With a bad roller clutch it will flare up between the 3-4 shift.
