Transmission questions

I have a 12 mega 4x4 with the 68rfe I am going to be deleting in the next few months and I have cocerns. Dodge is obviously known for transmissions and since I will be deleting the warranty will be gone. What can I do to the tranny to keep it in good shape. I wont be drag racing it or doing boosted launches but occaisinally getting on it to enjoy it.

Mini Maxx with OD tuning and drive like a normal person.
Thanks I talked to Dave the other day I am getting all my stuff through you guys do you also carry or can you get the deeper trans pans
Can u upgrade parts of the trans lime torque converter and valve body and input shaft or is it not possible? Cause I think my TC is giving me fits and I wish I could just buy a upgraded one and call it good but is that not an option?

you can do just a converter and VB, infact im kinda contemplating do that for mine in the mean time with mine untill i can same my pennies for a Revmax 850. there have been several people indicating that a stock 68rfe with just a VB, torque converter upgrade & a good custom OD tune could handle around 550hp fairly reliably. any tranny experts disagree with this statement?
If u were able to just do a TC and valve body, how difficult is the install? Is it plug and play or how complex would this be for a average diesel savy dude? I've done evry mod in my sig myself but I know they are pretty beginner. Would this be wlryh the money cause my trans is getting to the point of me needing to make a decision quickly. I just wish dodge put a trans like a Allison in these from the get go and I wouldn't be in this predicament, at least for a basic deleted guy.
If you are going to bother pulling the tranny for a converter change, I would at least pull the rotating assembly to inspect the overdrives. I would also check the c-4's as well.

If your tranny is on the verge of giving up, it will finish itself off even sooner with a good converter.

Just my opinion.....

I have heard a few guys with a suncoast that had issues even after the 3rd warranty exchange. It made me think twice about a suncoast but they are only a hour anr half away from me and it would be sooo nice to get this done by the guys that make the trans instead of ordering one and installing it myself or having some unknowledgable trans shop try to do it for me ane payin labor. I wish I could just not have trans issues at all :-(
