Transmission problem

When pulling a trailer about 10,000lb up hill the rpms will shoot up and can hear some chatter. Would this be clutches, converter or something else.

Sounds like it to me..

Probably burned the directs or the forwards up.

Depending on what gear you are in and other factors it will slip.

That's about right for a stock 48. They tend to make it right about there if taken care of.
