I just bought a 2005 Dodge with the 5.9 Cummins and 48re auto trans. The truck has 26,000 mi and is a 4x4. It is truly a sweet ride but I have noticed something weird about the shifting. In particular, when I accelerate to get on the freeway the truck shifts through all gears fine but before shifting to the last gear, the tac bounces and then lunges about 500 rpm down to the final gear. What is the deal?

what mods are done? i think you might need a ts performance shift master to help you out

I dont know why it would lunge up but it locks up and drops significantly. That should be around 50 mph.
