Goerend and DTT both have triple disc Torque converters. If you want to spend the $$$ there's some other options with ATS I believe and you can also do the 48rfe swap.

What type of horsepower are you going for?

Will just a tq converter hold somthing like the xrt 120 or 175 or the higher smarty settings over the long term? Thats my question and I believe a lot of others question here shortly. The 6.7 crowd now has excellent tuners...we just need a tranny solution(s) to hold it. I can't believe my stock auto is gonna make it over the long haul...knock on wood it has been fine to date.

Well i know we can get converters but that will just make everything else go alot quicker. I heard that noone makes pumps or good clutches yet. Who knows.......... I know my trans won't hold the smarty. Truck would be alot quicker if it could hold it.

I got a ATS in the mail haha should be in tomorrow. I'll report back on how it holds. I don't have a smarty or xrt but i am planning on getting one now. I fried my stock(tranny) one pretty bad doing a 4 wheel boosted launch. had all 4 tires about to spin before i released the brake.had to show a 5.9 what the new 6.7 can do that was until it stopped shifting. dang dealerships would cover it under warranty and I went to 3 dealerships. ga i don't know why they threw a fit cuz they forgot to put all the emissions stuff under my hood lol and one dealership was like how is that possible. well really hope this purple thing performs well

I am on my 3rd 68re and fortunately my dealer is cool, however, he said this is my last free one, as chrysler has red flagged mt vin for trans problems. I am looking into something to hold the power as well. I just don't see why everything for this tranny is so dam cashy!

Stock should be just fine, as I do recall a member, kodiak cunstruction? possibly, who pulled 30k+ all the time and never had trany probs till 150k miles.

That sounds about right...

I can't remember how many miles Kodiak had on his truck after pulling all that weight, but it was a surprisingly impressive number.

Id realy like a better TC. but I gota take it easy on the tranny until I can afford a new better unit. I also want to see some proven miles put down. Until then Im taking it easy when starting, then I get on it after im moving a bit.

I want to say he got his tranny built around 120k or 130k, He had a few issues with the tranny after he had it built. I met up with him in houston when he hauled that huge RV on his trailer. I think I remember him saying something about it not shifting properly when it was scorching hot outside and in the hills.
