Can anyone tell me how difficult it is to replace the "in tank" transfer pump in my fuel tank? I have been experiencing low power issues (especially when my truck is cold) and finally had a mechanic run a diagnostic on the problem and was told I need a new "transfer pump". He tells me the part is $528.00 and that it is $225.00 in labor to install. The low labor rate has me wondering if I should attempt to replace this pump myself.... Any advise is appreciated.

Buy an airdog pump for $499 and install it yourself. It has a lifetime warranty, and it should never let you down. Much much better pump than the stock one
