Just wondering if anyone has used the Royal Purple Synchromax in their transfer case and if it worked well? I am thinking about changing to the Synchromax and wanted to be sure it will be ok. Thanks!

Since there are no Synchromax users out there, what does everyone else use?

ATF+4 is the correct fluid. I use Amsoil Universal ATF.

Strange I've been using ATF III now for 124K miles...

(From the Dodge FSM)
DESCRIPTION - TRANSFER CASE FLUID
Recommended lubricant for the NV231 and NV241 transfer case is Mopar
ATF +4, (MS 9602) Automatic Transmission Fluid.

Opps... Oh well I guess I've been using the wrong stuff...:thud:

But oh well at this point I'm not going to worry about it...:w:

+3 is probably OK, though.

My 91 transfercase calls for gearlube or 30 or 50w. When I drained it, it was ATF. Any thoughts before I refill?
