Puked about 1 qt of fluid as I was refilling my trans right by the bell housing it came pissing out. I had about 11qts in when it happened. Stock pan etc. I feel like I should've been filling it in stages and now overfilled it but am unsure and don't want to start lol. Any help is appreciated

Ok so I obviously overfilled it now that I have found the correct fill procedure. My ? Is should I drop the pan and drain some back out or can I start it and let it run? Just don't wanna cause any problems

If you dont want to cause problems and be safe, Id suggest dropping the pan and draining some out and following the correct procedure when filling.

It will drain what it needs.. It will drip for weeks though until it gets to a certain level

Never fill over 2 gal before starting. When you do fill, leave in neutral then add 2qts and check while running

So am I going to hurt anything by running it? I really don't want to drop the pan, definetly wishing for a drain plug right now

Ok guess I'll be dropping the pan. Haven't started the truck yet so I shouldn't have hurt anything. Son of a now I'm gonna need more ATF.... Sigh supposed to have this done so I can use it tomorrow

You can drive it like that if need be. Your not going to hurt it

Changing filter with stock pan normal service uses about 4-5 QUARTS, I usually put 3 quarts in start truck, run thru gears get up to operating temp then in neutral at operating temp check add 1/2 quarts.
Be careful at the right oxygen level /temp everything burns, trans fluid will burn.

If you drain TC you will need more than 4-5 quarts....

stock trans, no drain, unless your handy with a drill

I take 10'-12' of cheap 3/8" OD white poly tubing and run one end down the dipstick tube(fits perfect). I push the poly tube down until it touches the bottom of the pan and pull back ~1/4" and siphon 95% of the fluid out into milk jugs. This does 2 things; it makes pulling the pan MUCH more pleasant and I know the exact volume of what I took out. Therefore if the fluid level was correct before draining and I put the same amount back in, bingo...my level it right on the money without dinking around checking and adding all afternoon.
